Clinical Intern Therapist
Change comes to all of our lives and you can take agency in how you choose to navigate it.
Life transitions come in many forms and we all need additional support sometimes. Whether you are pursuing a lifelong dream or navigating an unexpected and unwanted change in your life, I can help you with being present to what is and finding ways to honor your experience, while moving towards where you want to be.
I work with a variety of clients, but in particular enjoy supporting women and gender expansive people, those in affectionately diverse relationships, individuals navigating a cancer diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship, and those going through major life transitions, whether chosen or unexpected.
The therapeutic relationship is a collaborative relationship where the counselor and client work together to support the client. We will work together to set intentions for therapy. You are always the expert on yourself, your identities, your emotions, and your experiences. I see my role as counselor as co-creating a container with my client and holding a welcoming, brave, non-judgmental, and honoring space for them to show up as their authentic selves, meeting the client where they are at.
My background & approach
I use a person-centered relational approach, but I also believe that there are many components that contribute to how we experience the world and our relationships. Our bodies and nervous systems are a big source of knowledge and information. I incorporate body based somatic practices and knowledge about how the nervous system works to bring a more holistic view to how healing takes place. I draw on narrative therapy to help us reflect on your stories, and the stories that communities and systems tell, and how they may impact you, and bring in elements from queer, feminist, and systemic approaches.
I hold a Bachelors of Arts in Religious Studies, with a focus on world religions. I support the young cancer community through over five years of volunteer work with Young Survival Coalition and volunteer weekly in support of queer and trans youth.
I am currently completing my Masters of Arts in Counseling (Clinical Mental Health) at Antioch University Seattle.
